Eric's Story

Eric has been an athlete since a young child.  His interest in athletic performance started as a tee-ball baseball player, becoming an all-star pitcher in little league.  Although a naturally talented athlete, Eric was always one of the "smaller" players in the field.  Other players were faster, stronger and developed quicker than he did. He needed to figure out how to close that "size" gap.  During this time, he learned many basic movements like body weight squats, lunges, jumping jacks, burpees, broad jumps, sprints and more. He'd spend his afternoons in the streets performing these movements in hopes to close that gap.

Eventually, Eric's parents asked which sport he would like to stick with as playing all three created time constraints. At age 12, Eric chose what became his true passion, ice hockey.  Eric played club hockey from Mite through Midget for the Gladiators out of the Coliseum in Voorhees, NJ. After that, he was offered an opportunity to play Juniors.  As a result of his efforts, Eric decided to skip college and try-out with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL and eventually the Philadelphia Bulldogs professional roller hockey team. At the end of his hockey career he was fortunate enough to play with the Philadelphia Flyers Alumni.  He played in multiple charity games in the US and Norway. He is grateful to earn some of his fondest memories by playing with some of the best in the world.

As a much smaller player than most teams preferred, his energy, stamina and strength led him to success throughout his career. Eric contributes that to his dedication to off-ice training and development by simply putting in the work while other athletes rested.

Eric is currently a Level 4 USA Hockey coach.  Eric is also certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine to train adults and kids as young as 7 years old. Eric is a certified trainer for Orange Theory Fitness (Voorhees, Deptford and Sewell locations). For over 10 years, Eric has coached youth ice hockey. He also leads many Spring and Summer hockey camps' off-ice programs.

The younger athletes are drawn to Eric's coaching style as he seems to find ways to help improve even the most resistant players. He takes great pride into taking the time to learn how to communicate to each personality in hopes to make the best of the experience.

Eric would LOVE to earn the opportunity to work with your youth player of any sport, and also trains adults!
